PIMP, all you need to know

Pimp, the word has a lot of meaning, mainly though, it has a negative meaning. When you call someone a pimp, you are calling them a person who sells women for profit and pleasure. In class we are talking about taboos and slang, and this word came up. This got me thinking, will the word pimp ever be a good word, or will it lose it's harsh meaning. So I started thinking the word pimp now a days can be used to call someone a ladies man, or a "playa" but, to the older crowd then they will get pissed because you're calling them someone who only thinks of women as a means of getting money through playing to most men second brain. The word has lost the meaning its had in the past, if a guy calls his friend a pimp then they will get all riled up, because you called him a guy who has a lot of girls. Pimp can also be used as a way turn something old into something new, like pimp my ride, or pimp my house, this means to turn something old into something new, make it look cool. Will this word get reformed, probably;  it has already started to change in meaning, going from a word that means you are a person who only sees girls as money makers, to a guy who makes girls go wild for him. It is still used in a bad way, it can be seen as an insult, but it is starting to lose that bad edge. Though that isn't to say, it won't still be seen as bad, it had a bad origin, and calling someone a pimp can still be an insult, so it will lose it's harsh meaning, but it will not lose its past as an insult.
